The thesis was a leap beyond my capabilities. I felt as though I wouldn't be able to produce anything of that caliber again. I was working as an art therapist and teaching painting to small groups. However, I experienced a personal shock when my grandmother passed away, which led me into a creative crisis. I took a step back and didn't engage in any serious creative work for almost a year. Towards the end of the summer, I created 'First Kiss' and 'Inhale,' gradually recovering from the crisis.
